The Centre For Molecular Biology and Medicine is a not for profit medical research institute located at Epworth Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia. Research centres on two main areas:
(i) The Aging process / Age associated diseases (The aging project) and
(ii) Gastrointestinal Cancer (The cancer detection project). Research into the aging process and age associated disease is examined at the mitochondrial DNA level of the cell. Scientists at the Centre employ redox therapy using Coenzyme Q10 to ameliorate the effects of the aging process and associated diseases. The Centres Gastrointestinal Cancer research is centred on the development of cancer diagnostics in its collaboration with the pharmaceutical company, Mabtech Limited. A gastrointestinal cancer diagnostic detecting the mucinous antigen SIMA 4D3 has been developed and commercialised for the early detection of gastrointestinal cancer. Contact Information:
